Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) issued a statement on June 22 on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to a Joint Session of Congress. Pallone will welcome Edison Mayor Sam Joshi as his guest to the address and will bring the Prime Minister into the House of Representatives as a member of the official Congressional Escort Committee.

“Prime Minister Modi’s speech to Congress is an important day for the United States-India relationship. India’s expanding role on the world stage has made it one of America’s most important allies. I hope this visit will continue to build on the progress we’ve made together on defense, security, and economic issues. I’m proud to represent one of the largest Indian-American communities in the country and to host my friend Mayor Joshi in Washington now. I’m deeply grateful for the many contributions Indian Americans have made to our country and New Jersey, and I will continue to support the strong relationship between our people.”

Congressman Pallone is a co-founder of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Issues.
