If temperatures stay low, you might just have to get out your ice boat! Long Branch artist Victor Gilsey (1872 - 1947) painted "Ice Boating on the South Shrewsbury River" in about 1900. Gilsey was an avid ice boat enthusiast himself and was a member of the North Shrewsbury Ice Boat and Yacht Club in Red Bank. The lead boat at the far right is Gilsey's own ice boat, named "Arrow."
