Levels of stress and trauma are expected to be even higher in lower-income communities

Since the pandemic, anxiety and depression have doubled in our youth. Levels of stress and trauma are expected to be even higher in lower-income communities.

To address this alarming problem, Monmouth Arts, developed the Creative Expressions, Arts and Wellness Program, a countywide initiative that uses the arts to address the rise in mental health issues in our youth due to the pandemic. Creative Expressions applies art forms such as painting, music, and dance to effectively treat stress, anxiety, and depression arising from COVID-19.  Teaching artists and mental health professionals align themselves with Monmouth County organizations that serve economically disadvantaged youth to offer a wide range of free arts experiences over a four-week period.
