Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly, a former standout basketball player from Manasquan High School, played a key role Saturday, February 28, as Holy Cross earned a 66-48 win over the Loyola Greyhounds.
The 5′11″ senior guard posted 21 points, 10 rebounds and one assist across 36 minutes on the court.
Other former Lee Network NJ area athletes participated in the game for the Crusaders, including Janie Bachmann and Meg Cahalan.
Bachmann, a 5′11″ junior guard who graduated from Saint John Vianney High School, scored seven points, added three rebounds and collected two steals in 21 minutes of play.
Cahalan, a 6′2″ senior forward and Saint John Vianney alum, contributed 14 points, three rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes on the floor.
The Crusaders’ next game is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m. when Holy Cross faces Boston Terriers on the road.
