The Borough of Red Bank announced on Mar. 30 that nominations are now open for the Beacon of Light Award, which honors individuals who promote LGBTQ+ inclusion and pride within the community. The award is presented every June during Pride Month to recognize a local changemaker who uplifts, supports, and amplifies the LGBTQ+ community.

The initiative aims to celebrate those making a positive impact in Red Bank, whether they are members of the LGBTQ+ community or allies. Eligible nominees must be at least 13 years old and either reside in Red Bank or contribute positively to its community.

Nominations can be submitted by filling out an online form before the deadline of April 12, 2026. The process is open to all residents who wish to acknowledge someone making a difference for LGBTQ+ inclusion.

According to the announcement, “Let’s celebrate the people who make Red Bank shine!” The message was also shared in Spanish as part of efforts to reach a broader segment of the community.

The Beacon of Light Award represents an ongoing effort by Red Bank to recognize and encourage support for diversity and acceptance within its population. The annual presentation during Pride Month highlights continued advocacy for equality.
