The Mayor and City Council of Asbury Park approved a resolution on April 8 authorizing an addendum to the Boardwalk Preservation Fund Sub Grant Agreement with Madison Asbury Retail, LLC. The decision comes after March Associates Construction, Inc., the original contractor expected to complete work on the Paramount Theater project, informed the city that it would not serve as contractor.

According to city officials, Madison Asbury Retail said it would quickly move forward to secure a replacement contractor. The council’s vote named Pullman SST, Inc. as the new incoming contractor for the construction phase. Michael Graves Architecture will serve as construction manager for the project.

The change in contractors is part of ongoing efforts by city leadership and partners to ensure progress continues at the Paramount Theater site. City representatives stated that all steps are being taken to keep work on track despite this transition.

The full resolution related to this decision is available through official city channels.

The council’s approval marks another step toward advancing improvements along Asbury Park’s boardwalk area.
