The City of Asbury Park has released its weekly briefing for the week of December 29, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The update provides information on upcoming city events, closures, and changes in services.

A city-sponsored event, “Movies by the Sea: Home Alone,” is scheduled for December 29 at 4:30 PM at The ShowRoom Cinema.

Several closures will take place around the New Year holiday. City Hall will be closed all day on Thursday, January 1, 2026. The library will close on both Wednesday, December 31, and Thursday, January 1. The Recycling Center will also be closed on January 1. There will be no garbage or recycling collection that day.

Additionally, free parking in all zones and suspension of alternate side parking rules will be in effect on January 1.

Residents are encouraged to visit the city’s website for updates and to sign up for alerts or newsletters. Information about city meetings and additional events can also be found online.

Asbury Park was recently recognized as the “2025 Best Small Beach Town in the US” by Travel + Leisure.
